That movie makes me cry so hard.

Likes & Dislikes

So, let’s start off with the things I like, since I’d much rather write about those, anyway. Firstly, I love alphabetizing things. It’s borderine OCD. Before I redid this page (thanks to a recommendation from a review site), it was pretty much just an alphabetized, organized list of things that I like and don’t like. I’m pretty open to liking things — that is, I tend to like more than I dislike. I love animals of all kinds, but I’m not an animal activist freak. Like just about everyone else in this universe, I’m into art and music. Both of those have played a big part in my life, as I grew up in a family that was gifted not only musically, but artistically as well. True to my Aquarian nature, I’m into oddball things as well. Knowledge of occult religions, universal energies, conspiracy theories, and juicy gossip are just some of the things my brain pines for. I’m a child at heart, and enjoy dressing up, ice cream, video games, and sparkly, shiny things. I have an affinity for makeup that most girls wouldn’t even dare. A friend once told me that if I was a guy, I’d be a drag queen.

When it comes to music, I listen to just about everything. I know people who say that, but they really just mean everything that the radio spews out nowadays. No, I listen to pretty much everything. My MP3 player is filled with pop, punk, rock, 80′s, hair metal, hard rock, oldies, ambient atmospheric (good for meditation!), techno, classical, musicals, and alternative, with a sprinkling of rap, R&B, and country.

In movies, I’m particularly selective. My favorite movies are those in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson. Being named after a character from the saga forced me into the fandom at a young age, and I read both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when I was in elementary school. Though I thoroughly enjoyed the movies, I was the annoying person in the theater speculating every difference between the books and the movies. I like comedies, but only if they’re clever and witty. I’m a fan of science fiction and fantasy, as well. I’m not too big on horror movies or psychological thrillers. They leave me paranoid for weeks on end. I really don’t like zombie movies, either, but Shaun of the Dead is an exception.

Now for the last paragraph: things I don’t like. The first thing would be spiders. They give me the creeps, and I’ve never been able to get over it. No matter how little they are, they always scare me to the point of getting that fight or flight adrenaline reaction. The same goes for insects in general, but they don’t get as much of a reaction out of me. The worst part is, killing a spider or an insect thoroughly grosses me out, and I end up having to spray it with Windex, or wash it down the drain. Or worst case scenario, get someone else to kill it for me. I really don’t like the previous president of the United States (George W.), I don’t like bible-thumping religious evangelists, and I don’t like anything having to do with Harry Potter.
