Skinned!
So I did it. I skinned my site. There’s still some things that I wanna tweak, but it involves editing 7 different stylesheets, and I’m feeling entirely too lazy for that at the moment.
There was an amazing thunderstorm last night. I had gone downtown to hang out with Justin, Josh, and Justin’s friend Erica (who was visiting from Boston), and downtown was boring because it was 10:30 at night and nothing was open. So we went to Dix Hills diner for some desserts, and Justin would not stop fiddling with the jukebox at our table. I was ready to kill him when he made it play N Sync. But then he popped in another quarter, put on Queen, and he was forgiven.
So then, when we got out of the diner, there was the occasional lightning and rumbling thunder, and we decided to go to the beach to watch the storm. On the way, it started to pour. I wanted to get out of the car and dance, because I love heavy rainstorms like that. Needless to say, I also got lost on the way to the beach. The local beach. Which I’ve been going to for about 10 years.
Yeah, so sue me. The roads look a lot different at night and in the pouring rain.
We stayed in the car at the beach until about 2 in the morning, just watching the lightning, and occasionally mopping the condensation off the car windows (hey, there were four of us in there breathing. I swear that’s what it was). It was a nice night. I wish it would rain like that again.
Today it was incredibly hot and stuffy. I mean, one might expect the weather to be a little cooler after a storm like that, but nooo… it got hotter. It’s one of those days that makes your hair go POOF no matter how much you try to tame it, and one of those days that just makes you feel all icky and lazy. Yet, despite the ickiness and laziness, I unloaded the dishwasher, did four loads of laundry, cleaned around my room, folded and sorted the clean laundry, and made dinner for the family.
News on the job front: Not one of the bajillion or so jobs I’ve applied for has gotten back to me yet. I’m beginning to think that the world is out to get me. Correction… I’ve been paranoid since forever. My suspicions just feel a little more justified now. I applied online for a job at Home Depot. I heard they have really good benefits. Maybe they’ll hire me…
I still haven’t gotten a credit card. But I did get my first denied letter…
Who’s gonna go see Troy? Arwen’s gonna be a big fat fangirl and go see Troy and squeal at Orlando Bloom and Brad Pitt. Yup.
Speaking of fangirlism, the wrestling show the other night was AWESOME. Lindsay and I got video footage of some of it, including the Dan Barry vs. Dickie Rodz dog collar grudge match. Dog collars + chains + wrestlers = yum. Mikey Whipwreck vs. Nuke was also AMAZING… it went outside (where Mikey climbed up on a truck and then put Nuke through a strategically placed table), and then back in. Oh man!
Woo… anyhoots, that’s all for now.
